Piano
Program Highlights

The Piano Program at SCPA is designed to help students achieve significant growth in their playing ability through rigorous training, performance opportunities, and individualized instruction. With classes offered at multiple levels—from Keyboard Skills to Piano Honors—the program supports both beginners and advanced students, including those preparing for competitions and auditions at top conservatories.
Instruction emphasizes both technical proficiency and musical artistry, with students assessed through daily performance in class, weekly record day performances, studio classes, and Arts Proficiency Exams (Boards). Quarterly piano recitals provide opportunities for students to showcase their progress to peers, parents, and the SCPA community.
The Piano Honors Studio challenges advanced students to pursue excellence at a pre-professional level. At the same time, Piano Major I & II and Keyboard Skills courses build a strong foundation for continued growth.
Beyond the classroom, the Piano Department encourages students to engage with the community through charity performances and outreach events, while also partnering with parents to support learning at home. This combination of instruction, performance, and community engagement helps SCPA piano students develop into confident, accomplished musicians prepared for higher education and professional opportunities.
