Drama

The K–3 Drama program at SCPA introduces students to the excitement of performance and storytelling through movement, imagination, and expression. In a supportive classroom environment, young actors build confidence, creativity, and collaboration while learning the fundamentals of theatre.

K-3 Drama Highlights

Foundations of Acting: Students explore basic stage skills such as voice, movement, and expression while learning to work together as part of an ensemble.

Imagination & Storytelling: Drama activities encourage creativity through role play, character building, and dramatic storytelling.

Performance Experiences: Each year, students showcase their growth through age-appropriate performance opportunities that celebrate their progress as young performers.

Collaboration & Confidence: Drama classes emphasize teamwork, communication, and risk-taking in a safe space, helping students develop both artistic skills and self-confidence.

Assessment & Growth

Students are evaluated on participation, collaboration, and growth in performance skills. By the end of third grade, students have a strong foundation in theatre arts and the confidence to continue developing their skills in upper grade levels.

Students are evaluated on participation, effort, and growth in dance fundamentals. Attendance and active participation are essential for accurate grading. Students are evaluated on proficiency, effort, and growth.
