Musical Theatre
The Musical Theatre program at SCPA offers students the unique opportunity to combine the core disciplines of singing, dancing, and acting. Structured as a double major, Musical Theatre must be paired with one of the following primary majors: Drama, Creative Writing, Instrumental Music, Visual Art, Technical Theatre, or Vocal Music. This design ensures that students build a strong foundation in their primary discipline while developing the specialized skills essential for success in musical theatre. Admission to the program is by audition only.
Each year, students participate in several productions, gaining authentic performance experience and the opportunity to collaborate with peers across grade levels:
- Senior Musical Theatre Fall Cabaret Showcase
- Junior Musical Theatre Fall Showcase
- Junior Musical Theatre Production
- 9th–10th Grade Musical Theatre Stage Production
- 11th–12th Grade Musical Theatre Stage Production
Through these experiences, students develop stage presence, ensemble skills, and an understanding of the demands of live performance, while preparing for advanced study and future opportunities in the performing arts.
