The class of 2020 has sacrificed a lot of their pomp and circumstance and traditions that have become a rite of passage, from prom to graduation ceremonies.
Cincinnati Public Schools does not want the achievements of this year's senior class to go without celebration. Monday marked the district's first graduation parade for the School for the Creative and Performing Arts.
"This is just kind of the perfect ending," said Heidi Jost, mother of a graduating senior. "This is kind of fun."
Graduates donned their caps and gowns and rode in cars with family members. As they approached Music Hall, where their graduation was originally planned, their name was announced through a speaker system and the school principal handed them their diploma through the car window.
"I'm glad they put this all together, said graduate Henry Jost. "Even though it's raining, it will just make it more memorable."
