CPS Superintendent Laura Mitchell discusses the importance of public education in driving economic development

CINCINNATI – Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS) has launched a new way to share how the district is preparing students for success throughout their lives. “Making Progress with Laura Mitchell” is a new podcast series in which host Clyde Gray and CPS Superintendent Laura Mitchell discuss strategic priorities, new initiatives and partnerships designed to strengthen the city’s public schools. Episode one, “Meet Laura Mitchell,” is available for listening.

The pilot episode was taped inside the Corbett Theater at Mitchell’s alma mater, the School for Creative and Performing Arts. Mitchell and Gray discuss a wide range of topics, from Mitchell’s takeaways from her first 90 days as superintendent to strategic partnerships that will help develop the region’s future workforce and ultimately drive economic growth.

“I want Cincinnati Public Schools to be a place of destination,” said Mitchell. “I want our district to be one that draws families to our city and neighborhoods. We’re implementing strategies to bring this vision to life, and I am excited to share the details with our stakeholders.”
