MEET SCPA SENIOR, JALAYSIA
Jalaysia gives a helping hand and received a helping hand while a drama student at SCPA. Last year when her mother died, she found solace in her school work and her friends. Now as a 12th grade student she is studying stage management and gives a hand to performers, directors and others. “I think it’s really special that younger students can watch older students to learn from all of us, as we learn from our teachers. Our teachers are awesome. They have real life experience and teach us without sugar coating the tough world of acting.” Jalaysia has a big goal after college – to stage manage musicals on Broadway.
MEET SCPA JUNIOR, DOLORES
Dolores has been playing and studying the violin for 9 years. Now as an 11th grader and Instrumental Music major, she continues to excel and is deeply appreciative of the dual emphasis on academics and the arts at SCPA. “I love that SCPA offers the Corbett Mayerson competition for juniors. It really shows the crème de la crème of our class.” Dolores would like to thank the donors who make it possible for SCPA students to receive an amazing arts education and allowing those less fortunate to have access to needed instruments to follow their dreams. Dolores has plans to attend college and pursue a degree in arts administration or stage management. Her dream job would be as an artist manager.
