School Policies

Philosophy

Primary emphasis is placed upon the ability of students to exercise self discipline resulting in acceptable school behavior. SCPA stresses proper behavior in school which leads to an atmosphere and attitude conducive to the maximum educational growth of all students.

Statement of Board Policy

The philosophy and implementation of the Positive School Culture Plan at SCPA are in direct agreement with the section related to student discipline contained in the Cincinnati Public Schools Code of Conduct K-12.

Admission Policy

Students entering grades 4-12 are admitted by application and audition. Students entering Kindergarten -3rd grade are admitted by application and interview. 

Tuition Policy

Accepted students who officially reside within the Cincinnati Public School District attend SCPA without a tuition fee. For accepted students who officially reside outside the Cincinnati Public School District please refer to the CPS website for information regarding out-of-district enrollment.

Fees

SCPA students are required to pay a CPS Student Fee. SCPA Students are also required to pay a $30 SCPA Artistic Fee. Additional Arts Department Fees apply for specific programs.  

Bus Service

CPS yellow-bus service is provided for CPS district students K-8 that attend SCPA and meet the minimum distance requirement from SCPA. CPS district students in grades 9-12 ride Cincinnati Metro buses (public transportation). 

Handbook
