Dear Friends,

The hope of spring is in the air and the calendar of events at SCPA is blooming with activities and events you will not want to miss!

Mark your calendars for April 21-23 for a very special ballet performance of The Jungle Book. Join us as we travel to a faraway land where the promise of adventure and intrigue awaits! For ticket information, please call 363-8100 or visit

No other event captures the power and passion of SCPA quite like the Corbett Mayerson Awards. Join us on May 11th to watch as the outstanding members of the junior class compete for this coveted and prestigious award. This annual award is considered SCPA's highest honor and the seven award recipients will also be awarded financial support for college. Now in its 31st year, the Corbett Mayerson Award has presented this distinction to more than 210 talented students at SCPA. Our students are so fortunate to benefit from the vision and ongoing generosity of the Corbett and Mayerson Foundations at SCPA. Please join us for this memorable night of artistic excellence!

While we have much to celebrate, spring is also an opportunity to renew our commitment to ensuring the promise of SCPA's future.

With 49 percent of our student body living below the poverty level, there are many obstacles that our students face. Things that many other students take for granted, like access to computers, or resources that support their artistic pursuits, new toe shoes, instruments and art supplies. These students simply cannot keep pace and many fall behind - both academically and artistically.

That is why your support is critical to ensuring that these children get the same opportunities to succeed that others are given. Please consider a gift to SCPA. Your generosity will go a long way toward ensuring that ALL of our students can reach their fullest potential and make a lasting impact in our community. To make a gift today, please go to

We hope to see you this spring as we come together to build upon the past while ensuring the promise of SCPA for many generations to come.

Thank you,

Teresa Summe-Haas
